Where I've been & what I do...

SCHOOLS & UNIVERSITIES

From the Outer Hebrides to the Isle of Wight, I've spoken and run workshops in over 200 schools across the UK. Specialising in secondary schools, my talks and workshops in educational settings focus on mental health, and are delivered to teachers, parents and students alike. They cover topics including stigma, self-harm and suicide awareness and prevention, how to spot signs of mental-ill health in ourselves and others, and how to have those hard conversations.

I also run workshops on consent, resilience, communication skills and improv comedy as a freelance workshop facilitator.

ONLINE

Like everyone else, in 2019 I took my talks and workshops online. This lead me to run sessions as far afield as Athens and Singapore.

Organisations I've worked with online include...

Refugee Ed- working with local organisations and experienced teachers, to ensure children and adults fleeing violence have access to a good education.

Routes Collective- supporting women with experience of the hostile UK Asylum System to grow in confidence, build relationships and access opportunities.

Bravo 22 Company- a recovery through the arts programme by The Royal British Legion.

WORKPLACES

I've run sessions in workplaces around how to spot signs of mental ill-health in ourselves and our colleagues, and how to create a mentally healthy workplace.

Places I've been include...

BMW Academy

BODEN

Pinebridge Investments, NYC

Benson Elliot

Native Land

Rendel Ltd

"I'd like to say a huge thank you for the fantastic training session you provided us with. The feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive and all that attended have commented on how valuable the session was. The way you incorporated your own personal experiences, alongside the facts and strategies, was excellent and made it so much easier for us to connect and associate with the information you were sharing. You definitely left us with lots of think about and take away from the session"

The Charlie Waller Trust

The Charlie Waller Trust are one the UK’s most respected mental health charities, founded by the family of Charlie Waller who took his own life in 1997 whilst suffering from depression.
They help young people to understand their own mental health, to equip them to support themselves and those around them, and to empower them to talk more openly about the subject. Much of their work takes place in partnership with those with responsibility for young people - families, schools, colleges, universities, and employers.

Making Generation Resilience

Learning to be resilient can make a big difference to anyone that struggles with feelings of anxiety and low self-esteem.

One of the most effective ways to encourage resilience is through inspiration from others who have overcome difficulties in their lives. That’s why the Making Generation R campaign supports injured veterans to take their inspiring stories about overcoming adversity to schools, frontline service and the military.

Over 125,000 young people and key workers have already been inspired by Making Generation R.
